Beech |

Beech is a slightly coarse wood with a
fine, straight, even textured grain. It is primarily
reddish-brown in color without any noticeable markings. Beech
can exhibit some flecking at times. |

Oak |

 |
Red Oak is a very strong, coarse, open grained wood that ranges
in color from salmon-pink to yellow-brown. It is sometimes
streaked with green, yellow and black mineral deposits. Red oak
can also contain worm holes, knots and wild grained veins. |

Knotty Oak |

 |
Like oak but contains various sized, open secure knots. Knotty
oak is more likely to contain green, yellow and black mineral
deposits, worm holes and wild grained veins. |

Maple |

 |
Hard Maple is a fine, close grained, uniform wood that is
predominately white in color with a slight reddish-brown tinge.
Over time, maple tends to take on somewhat of an amber tone.
Occasionally it shows small, black dots that are reminiscent of
birds eyes, and it can contain random black mineral streaks that
are seldom more than 3/16" in width. |

Knotty Maple |

Same as maple but contains various sized, open secure knots.
Knotty maple is more likely to contain small black dots that are
reminiscent of birds eyes and some black mineral streaks that
are seldom more that 3/16" in width. |

Rustic Maple |
 |
Like maple but may contain various sized, open secure knots. May
also have heavier caramel colored and black mineral streaks that
are wider than 3/16" in width. Other characteristics of rustic
maple include burled grain and black dots that are reminiscent
of birds eyes. |

Alder |

 |
Red Alder is a fairly straight, fine grained wood with a uniform
texture. It can range from light honey-brown to pinkish-brown in
color. Alder may contain fine dark lines or streaks and tight
pin knots may be present. While it is technically a "hardwood",
alder demonstrates characteristics of softer wood species.
